This is a hands-on course designed to introduce
the student to various productivity applications through a series of
customized lesson plans. Students will demonstrate mastery of basic
word processing, spreadsheet, database, web page design, graphic
design, electronic and physical file management, group interaction and
collaboration, hardware and software terminology, keyboarding skills,
web-based resources, career exploration and employability skills.
Additionally, students will explore the
pre-history, historical and social implications of computer technology
and utilize skills obtained throughout this course of study to present
relevant findings in co-curricular assignments such as math, English,
and science to a live audience.
This course satisfies the .50 credit Computer
Literacy requirement for high school graduation and acceptance to
nationwide universities.
This course can be
taken to satisfy a Humanities requirement.
