Students learn to apply the basic elements of movement into dance and choreography, the basic-to-intermediate steps in ballet, jazz, ballroom and hip-hop by demonstrating proper foot positioning, turns, kicks and jumps to perform a variety of dance movements.  Dance students also learn the proper warm-up, conditioning and cool down techniques so as to avoid unnecessary injury.  The history of dance comes alive for the students as they learn to perform and interpret many cultural dances while showcasing their skills as dancers.  It’s just plain fun!

The ICDA Charter High School Visual Arts department develops students into critical thinkers and creators.  All Visual Arts projects are grounded in state and national standards providing students with the foundations required to enter art careers and colleges confidently.
